Is a MHCIMA having an experience of 40 years in Hospitality Industry. Started his career as Instructor at a Hotel Management College in Bangkok, Thailand and later joined as Management Trainee with Holiday Inn. Worked in different capacities including Vice President, General Manager, Manager Operations, Front office Manager, Lobby Manager with hotels of repute such as Holiday Inn Agra, Mughal Sheraton Agra, Hyatt Regency New Delhi, Taj Palace New Delhi, Quality Inn North Park (Choice Hotels), Country Inn & Suites by Carlson and Asia Group of hotels.
Sekhon has opened 4 hotels, upgraded couple of hotels as General Manager, and was part of opening team of Hyatt Regency Delhi. He specializes in the Pre-opening process of hotel, Human resources and Training of Rooms Division.
Sekhon has Diploma in Hotel Management from Bangkok School of Hotel Administration, Bangkok, Thailand. Officially qualified and being awarded with CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION in 1982 for being the Departmental Trainer for Front Office at Hyatt Regency, Delhi. He has been trained at Minneapolis (USA) headquarters of Carlson in 2000for the COUNTRY BRAND for setting up first Country Inn & suites by Carlson at Vaishno Devi Katra in 2000.
Has been elected Member of THE HOTEL AND CATERING INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION in October 2001.
